Austin assists MJB&A clients with business strategy and modeling, financial and investment analysis, and decision-making in environmental markets. He brings knowledge of financial markets and corporate environmental strategy to MJB&A. Some of his recent projects include energy efficiency finance, solar energy project development, and natural gas and electric sector market analysis for clients in the utility, industrial, and non-profit sectors. Austin has 13 years of experience working in corporate strategy, consulting, marketing, and environmental finance.
Before joining MJB&A, Austin worked for London-based Climate Change Capital (CCC) as a vice president responsible for developing the U.S. investment platform. Prior to that Austin advised institutional private equity investors on investments in energy, natural resources, and real estate for Cambridge Associates. He also worked for Booz Allen Hamilton, consulting to U.S. Government clients on energy and environmental issues, and advised a California-based non-profit on the development of new programs in hotel sector energy efficiency and e-waste recycling. Before enrolling in graduate school, Austin spent five years as manager of strategy, marketing, and business development at a startup enterprise software company.
Austin holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. He graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature.
Austin is an avid triathlete, and he enjoys cooking, growing his own food, outdoor travel, photography, and woodworking.
