Cherie is based in the Washington, DC office and brings a combination of public and private sector experience to MJB&A, having worked in both Houses of Congress as well as at the corporate and trade association levels. She uses her experience with coalition building, crafting consensus driven policies, legislative strategy development and advocacy to aid members of the Clean Energy Group and other clients on air quality and climate change related initiatives in Congress and the Administration.
Prior to joining MJB&A, Cherie served as Director of Legislative Affairs for the Electric Power Supply Association where she engaged in advocacy and policy development on climate change, grid security, derivatives reform and other energy-related matters of interest to competitive power suppliers. Previously, she worked for Constellation Energy as a Director of Federal Affairs. Before joining the private sector, Cherie worked on Capitol Hill, most recently as a Senior Policy Advisor for U.S. Senator Herb Kohl (D-WI), Chairman of the Senate Special Committee on Aging. She also served as a Legislative Assistant for former Congressman Albert R. Wynn (D-MD) handling energy, environment and healthcare issues related to his post on the Energy and Commerce Committee
Cherie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania. She has also studied at the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies.
Cherie enjoys international travel, having visited a range of cities around the world such as Shanghai, Cairo, Paris, Budapest and Rome. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and young daughter.
