On August 3, 2015, EPA released the final rule to regulate carbon emissions from existing power plants under Section 111(d) of the Clean Air Act. This rule finalizes the proposed Clean Power Plan, released on June 2, 2014. At the same time, EPA released proposed federal plans and model rules for the Clean Power Plan, as well as final carbon rules for new, reconstructed, and modified power plants. MJB&A has developed a number of resources to assist in the understanding of EPA’s carbon rules, including summaries of each rule. MJB&A has also developed a tool to allow users to analyze state progress towards compliance with the Clean Power Plan under a range of scenarios.
