Nolan supports regulatory and policy initiatives in the electric and natural gas sectors and provides analysis on energy and climate change challenges. He strives to offer clients insights into decarbonization and sustainability strategies during the transition to a clean energy economy.
Prior to joining MJB&A, Nolan worked as a Project Associate II with TRC Companies, Inc. He was responsible for supporting the implementation of California Utility Energy Efficiency Programs and Research and Technology Commercialization consulting projects. Consulting projects ranged from the development of state and municipal energy codes to electrification and microgrid feasibility studies.
Nolan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies and a minor in Spatial Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. During his senior year, he completed a thesis titled Climate Control in Buildings: Carbon Footprints and Heat Pumps and was selected by NASA to present his research, modeling, analysis, and findings at NASA and ESA’s 2017 International Workshop on Environment and Alternative Energy in Noordwijk, Holland.
