The following study was prepared by M.J. Bradley & Associates (MJB&A) to assess the life cycle greenhouse gas impacts associated with the Northeast Supply Enhancement Project (NESE)—a project to provide additional gas supply to downstate New York. MJB&A compared the life cycle emissions from natural gas use for space heating, water heating, and other purposes (e.g., cooking and clothes drying) to the life cycle emissions from meeting the same energy demand with heating oil and electricity.
